Friday (Virginia Boatman, meal manager) - Friday evening, before we go on our weekend journeys around the
world, there'll be a home-style meal of sandwich fixin's (cold and hot), and a well-stocked salad bar, and a soup or two.
Make-your-own-sandwich choices will include not only the usual cold turkey/ham/roast
beef slices but also Sloppy Joes (Manwich variety) and another hot dish I'm calling Sloppy Chicken, made of bits of chicken
and onion and mushrooms in a rosemary sauce, and suitable for
slopping onto either bread or a plate.
Saturday and Sunday Breakfast (Virginia Boatman, meal
manager)
Saturday Lunch (Nancy Heller, meal manager):
I Can't Believe I 8 The Whole World (Lunch in 8 Continents)
Africa - Peanut Soup (Vegetarian) (Ethiopia)
Europe - Chicken, Bacon and White Bean Soup (Portugal)
Asia - Braised Beef Short Ribs with Hoisin Gravy (Hybrid Chinese-Thai)
Asia - Jasmine Rice (Brown and White) (Vegetarian)
South America - Aztec Quinoa with Vegetables & Nuts (Vegetarian)
Australia - Marinated Chicken & Pasta Salad
Central America - Costa Rican Pineapples with Passionfruit Glaze
North America - Toll House Cookies (an American invention)
Antarctica - Ice Pops (you get the idea)
Saturday Dinner (Ray Smith, meal manager) - carry out from the Olive Garden
The Snack Room (Dave MacGregor, snackmeister) (aka The Place to Go for Munchies Nearly Anytime and Just
Enough Good Stuff to Get You Through Midnight DDCH) will have food ranging from veggies to cookies to M&Ms to cheese and
chips .. but you get the idea! Did I forget to mention the hot dogs and fixings?! Don't you forget to show
up at the RG and stop in at the Snack Room!!

Tournament Master - Steve AKA Partner
Prizes to the winners will be handed out Sunday, as always. This
year, most of the prizes have another country theme to them. To get you started,
here is a puzzle. Match the description above with the name below. There is one
name missing. Can you name it??? See you in December.
Friday
True Greed - Join
us for a dice game that brings out your hidden personality. How greedy are you
truly?? Come to the ballroom and find out. See if anyone can beat Judy Gissy’s
twenty-nine (29) point run to victory, followed by a very interesting table
dance. Yes, I know I said this last year. However, I was the next roller and
ONLY a half point from winning when she did this!!!!! Therefore, SOMEONE MUST
come and wipe this stain from my soul! So, be there and be true to the greedier
side of yourself ( and help me out at the same time)
Hearts - The
name is the symbol of Love. But just ask ANYONE, there IS NO LOVE AT THIS
TABLE!!! THE RG standard game. Played by everyone. An obsession for a few.
New blood is always needed to be sacrificed to the double black queen.
See if you can survive to the finals and help knock off the standard winners. A
great time is ALWAYS had by all!!!
Saturday
Fiendish Armchair Treasure Hunt - Gather your teams
and be in the Ballroom at ten, yes that’s ten AM, for the lazy man’s
scavenger hunt. Find twelve different locations without ever leaving the room.
The fun clue solving game is open to all ages. Solve the first clue for points.
Each additional clue cost you points. Even if you don’t play, stop in and wish
the proctor a happy birthday.
Duchre -
Pick your partner carefully for this pre-dealt game! The winners are
individuals not teams this year. As always, the inventor is running this game.
Guts as well as strategy is key to winning here, a good partner is always
helpful. NO beginners please. You are welcome to come, watch, and learn.
Wizard -
Do you believe in magic?? How about ESP?? Well, you can through those out
IF you can figure the percentages. This unique card game if a hodgepodge of
different games. Still, basically, this is about getting what you want while
trying to screw the others at your table. If you have these qualities, this game
is for you!!
Euchre -
The last tournament of the weekend is my favorite. Join me in the
ballroom a few hours prior to the dance. Your partner will be determined by luck
of the draw. He/She (your partner) will change with each round, of which there
is three. The smaller deck helps the game go quickly. Here again, beginners are
encouraged to watch and learn. Most, if not all, players will answer questions
at the end of the hand.
