1 Origami Carolyn Howarth -
There
is a belief in Japan that if you make a thousand origami cranes, your wish will
come true.
While we may not be up to one thousand in one weekend, heres a way
to make a start.
Origami is the Japanese art of making shapes and objects by
folding pieces of paper.
In addition to showing you how to make one crane from
one sheet of paper,
the class will include other forms like a cup, a box and how
to make
four cranes from one sheet of paper (this does involve cutting).
And,
for the juvenile delinquents in the class, we have WATER BOMBS!
Left unfilled,
these also make good toys. . (90 minutes)

you have friends or acquaintances involved in 12-Step programs,

Nina Keith, a Mensan in several 12-Step programs,
will explain the 12-Step philosophy
originally developed in the '30s for AA.
She
will talk about the many programs that have adopted these steps as a way finding
recovery from a wide variety of addictive processes,
including the problems
faced by those having a
partner or a close friend struggling with addiction.
A
question-and-answer period will follow her talk. (90 minutes)

much advanced material as time allows.
